Advisor engagement checklist

  • Scope: topics (fundraising, product, GTM) and out of scope items.
  • Time: hours per month, meeting cadence, async expectations.
  • Compensation: cash vs equity vs both; equity percentage or dollar cap.
  • Vesting or cliff for advisor equity if applicable.
  • Confidentiality and conflicts: other boards, investments, employers.
  • Term and termination: notice period either side.
  • IP and materials: who owns work product from sessions.
  • Introductions: attribution and process for warm intros.
